Since the Supreme Court and High Courts have multiple judges, it is not feasible for all of the justices to hear cases, nor is it easy to render a decision in straightforward instances. As a result, the Chief Justice and the Registry of the court arrange the judges into “benches,” or groupings of at least two judges to hear certain cases, known as divisional benches.
